NON ANALINE LEATHERS

Regarded as the most practical of upholstery leathers. Recommended for wear areas of heavy or hard wear i.e. hotels, offices, family rooms, car upholstery, etc. These leathers soften with use and have good resistance to fade or colour loss.

To maintain this type of leather use the Pellé Leather Cleaner and the Pellé Leather Conditioner Protector.

ANALINE LEATHERS

Because aniline leather is not coated, it is more susceptible to staining, fading, and scratches. It is not recommended for high-traffic areas or homes with children or pets. On the flip side, the lack of coating makes aniline leather soft and more comfortable to sit on.

Aniline leather is commonly used for high-end furniture and upscale interior décor items. Its natural beauty makes it an excellent choice for furniture that is meant to be the centerpiece of a room.

To maintain this type of leather use the Pellé Leather Cleaner and the Pellè Revitaliser and occasionally Pellé Leather Conditioner Protector.

Here's a quick and easy way to find out if you have aniline or unfinished leather:

Testing For Aniline Leather

  1. Find an area NOT subject to wear and tear, such as behind a seat cushion
  2. Wet your finger and press firmly into the leather for about 15 seconds.

If after removing your finger, the leather has darkened, then you have unfinished or aniline leather.

On the other hand, if there is NO change in colour then it is either semi-aniline or top finished leather.
